Back at the Machine(s)

I'm back.  Back at the sewing machine, and (hopefully) back at the blog.  In the past couple of weeks, I have put together an adorable small quilt top for Wednesday, and made a shirt for Caleb (printed, not sewn), and have about a dozen other projects working in my head.  I ran into trouble when I tried to quilt the baby quilt, though.  I just can't wrangle it through my machine and get it done - at least while maintaining my sanity.  So I am going to look for somewhere with a long arm machine that can quilt it for me for a reasonable price.

We have also been jumping through hoops trying to sell the house, and I have started Weight Watchers and have committed to Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred, so there is lots going on.  I am hoping that if I pick up the blog again, it will help me put some of the thoughts in my head in order. I am hoping to expand it to include recipes and tutorials and whatever else strikes my fancy.  I think working on the blog is good for me if I can keep in mind that "this is me" and I don't have to "live up to" the ideals that some of my very favorite bloggers, and real life friends, seem to maintain.  Mad props to them for all that they do, but I just can't seem to be *that* person.  And that's okay.

No pictures of the quilt top, because it's too late and dark and windy for me to go upstairs and take them.  Instead, I'll leave you with an image of my first born, celebrating his fifth birthday.  FIFTH!  How did that happen, where did the time go?  Just the other day he was my tiny little baby.  I almost feel sad when I look at and cuddle Wednesday, knowing how quickly she will grow into a child rather than a baby.
